Hi!

I’m Mandy, and I make all the art on this site.

I create original paintings in watercolor and oil and take photographs. These works are usually portraits and figurative art.

I find the process of making art fascinating, magical and surprising, which is partly why I find so much joy in it. I get to know my subjects well during the hours that I spend painting them. This is true even when the subject is myself.

What I find interesting about visual art are the same things I find interesting about art in general: A sense of mystery, of a world that exists even beyond what you can see, and a connection with our dream-lives. What intrigues me is art that allows you to wonder about the rest of the story.

I’m really into cats, playing piano, reading, taking long baths, making dumb jokes, and learning how to keep houseplants alive. I’ve watched all the documentaries available online already. Oh and I love learning new things but I’ll never be interested in chess, thanks. I live in Los Angeles with my husband, dog and cats… and the plants, at least for now (fingers crossed).
